Over the past months, we have deployed the development for a trolley on which eggs on the One2Born 3.0 hatchholders can be transported as efficiently and safely as possible. Thanks to the feedback from hatcheries, poultry farmers and drivers who transport the eggs daily, we have been able to develop a trolley that will make the delivery of pre-incubated eggs a lot easier. Also the egg shell temperatures can easily be kept between the desired temperatures during transport.

The number one priority during the design of the trolley was proper ventilation. Approximately five centimetres of air space is created both below and above as well as on the left and right side of each row on the trolley, to make sure that ventilation is guaranteed both horizontally and vertically. During transport, the egg shell temperatures remain stable between 90 and 97 degrees Fahrenheit at a temperature of 30 to 31 degrees Celsius with a full airflow in the truck. The set point depends of course on the type of trailer.

As far as the material of the trolley and plates is concerned, we have opted for solid stainless steel 304 that is 100% cleanable and meets the standards of the hatchery hygiene. The trolley is equipped with open structures, which means you can access every part of the trolley during cleaning and disinfection and that no cracks or crevices are present in which moisture can occur. Furthermore, the trolley is passivated which makes that the stainless steel has a self-recovering ability if a scratch or dent comes up during loading and unloading. In this way, optimal biosecurity can be achieved.

The trolley has been designed in such a way that two rows of four stacked One2Born trays fit on each layer on either side of the trolley. With four trays you can load and unload two hundred eggs in the trolley simultaneously, with a combined weight of ten to fifteen kilos. This is health and safety proof and feels comfortable while working. The trolley can carry a minimum of four thousand eggs and is both sturdy and agile. In addition, the trolley is 1.45 meters high so you hardly have to work above your reach. We also included grips at different heights to make unloading the trolley from the truck both safe and comfortable. To determine the total size of the trolley, the width of several trucks has been taken into account. The trolley is 70 centimetres wide and 1.18 meters long which means that in a 2.40-meter-wide truck exactly two trolleys fit next to one another and in a 2.30-meter-wide truck three trolleys fit next to one another. The trolley is equipped with a system that easily secures the trolley with a strap or push bar.

All in all, our trolleys have been thoroughly tested and the end users have been involved in the entire process to continuously provide us with feedback. The results are very impressive if you ask us!

Are you already using the One2Born hatchholders and are you curious about the trolley? Or are you not yet using our hatchholders, but would you like to try out the combination of the trays and the trolley? Feel free to contact us at any time!
